Research on the Optimized Application of New Textbook Sections in Junior High School English and Strategies for Cultivating Students' Pragmatic Ability
—Take the new junior high school English textbook for Grade 7, Vol-ume 1 of the People's Education Edition as an example

English teaching materials are not only the basic resources for students to learn English, but also the core basis for teachers to design and implement teaching activities. The new junior high school English textbooks of the People's Education Edition feature "integrating the six elements of the curriculum content throughout the unit design", "combining unit goal orientation with reflection to promote autonomous learning", and "fusing Chinese and foreign cultures to cultivate the awareness of a community with a shared future for mankind". Taking the new junior high school English textbook for Grade 7, Volume 1 of the People's Education Edition as an example, the author suggests that teachers adopt strategies such as "conducting unit and overall teaching based on themes", "designing real situation tasks based on activities", "exploring the emotional value of the textbook based on language", and "cultivating patriotic sentiments and the awareness of a community with a shared future for mankind based on culture" in actual teaching. Make full use of the new teaching materials to cultivate students' pragmatic ability, so as to truly implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue and nurturing talent.
