Language and culture are deeply intertwined. To learn a language, one must understand its cul-tural context. Only by mastering both can intercultural competence be truly enhanced. English reading instruction plays a vital role in developing such skills. This study examines challenges in fostering intercultural awareness in junior high English reading classes. By exploring practical teaching strategies, it aims to strengthen students' cross-cultural communication abilities, em-powering them to effectively share China's stories and promote its culture globally.
