Comparison of elementary teaching materi-als for Chinese as a foreign Language
—taking Liberal Chinese (Part I) and Learn Chinese with Me (Volume 1) as an example

The primary teaching material of Chinese as a foreign language is the primary way for students to learn Chinese, which greatly affects the interest and effect of students' learning. At present, there are still some differences and problems in the popular elementary teaching materials of Chinese as a foreign language. Starting from the compiling style, language point distribution and analysis, and topic distribution of the whole book and texts, this paper compares Liberal Chinese (Primary Part I) and Learn Chinese with Me (Volume I), which is helpful to improve students' learning efficiency and effect, enhance the effectiveness of teaching, and provide some suggestions for the development of elementary Chinese teaching materials as a foreign language.
