The ancient Yi script is not only an important carrier of the millennium-long history, folk beliefs, and ethnic spirit of the Yi people, but also a precious component of China’s excellent traditional culture. Against the background of rural revitalization, this paper takes Yuni Yi Ethnic Township in Panzhou City as a case study. Through questionnaire surveys and interviews, it reviews the current state of local Yi script resources and analyzes development dilemmas such as talent discontinuity, lack of educational support, delayed digitalization, superficial integration of culture and tourism, and insufficient safeguards. From the four dimensions of digitalization, cultural tourism, education, and multi-stakeholder collaboration, the paper proposes optimization strategies. These may serve as a reference for the inheritance of ethnic scripts, cultural tourism development, and rural cultural revitalization, and help strengthen the sense of community for the Chinese nation.
