Against the backdrop of globalization, English public speaking competence has become a core literacy for Chinese college students in international communication and career development. Adopting a mixed research method, this study takes 90 undergraduates from Northwestern Polytechnical University as research subjects. With the help of AI tools for speech transcription, emotion recognition and text analysis, it conducts a systematic analysis of 5 rounds of English presentation performances and 90 valid questionnaires. The results show that linguistic factors exert the most prominent influence, followed by psychological factors, while external environmental factors and cultural thinking factors also have significant impacts. The accuracy rate of AI speech transcription reaches 92.3%, yet its accuracy in contextual and deep semantic understanding is relatively low. It indicates that AI is suitable as an efficient preliminary screening tool and needs to be combined with manual review to ensure evaluation quality. This study puts forward teaching suggestions and training strategies, providing references for college English presentation teaching and personalized training.
