Abstract

Under the background of the new curriculum reform, cultivating students’ autonomous learning ability has become an important goal of English teaching. This study, starting from the connotation and current research status of high school English autonomous learning ability, based on relevant theories of autonomous learning and grounded in teaching practice, attempts to construct a set of effective strategies for cultivating autonomous learning ability in high school English through specific teaching cases. The aim is to transform teachers’ and students’ teaching and learning concepts, improve classroom efficiency, and thereby enhance students’ comprehensive language application ability, learning interest, and innovative spirit, so as to provide a reference for the reform and development of English teaching.
