With the development of children's literature, the importance of children's literature translation has become increasingly prominent. It is not only a way of literary communication between different countries, but also a new path and method to enrich children's literature. The exploration and selection of translation strategies in the process of children's literature translation also put forward higher requirements for the translators' professional qualities.The Giver is a very classic children's literature novel that has won the Newbery Medal for Children's Literature in the United States. In the process of translating it into Chinese, it is necessary to comprehensively consider the style of the original work, its ideological essence, and the readers' horizon of expectation, and plan and apply a variety of translation strategies in a coordinated manner. The translator Zheng Rongzhen comprehensively applied the methods of literal translation, free translation, amplification, and word order adjustment in translating The Giver, achieving quite good results.
