Abstract

The Morin Khuur, as a traditional musical instrument of the Mongolian ethnic group, carries profound cultural heritage. Its playing techniques and sound effects originate from the imitation of the natural environment and the perception of grassland life. With the advancement of the globalization process, the performance of the Morin Khuur has gradually been influenced by Western music, showing a trend of Westernization. From the perspective of Eastern culture, this article explores the Westernization process and influence of the Morin Khuur performance art, analyzes the opportunities and challenges of the integration of Eastern and Western cultures, and proposes how to promote the innovation and development of the Morin Khuur art on the basis of retaining the connotation of traditional culture. It is particularly pointed out that the in-heritance of culture and art cannot simply follow the trends of modernization and globalization. Instead, it should adhere to the traditions, folk customs and artistic spirit of the Mongolian na-tion and conduct innovative and development thinking on this basis.
