Film Noir, a classic 1940s genre defined by its unique narrative and visual style, faces a severe predicament in the digital age. This paper analyzes the causes of its decline, arguing that the emergence of new genres and shifting social dynamics have challenged its core aesthetics. The genre's classic characteristics are at odds with contemporary audience demands, necessitating urgent and innovative transformations in its narrative and visual strategies to survive and adapt.
